What GoodGuide, Jay Leno and the Chevy Volt Have In Common

We’re all nominees for The Daily Green’s 2011 Heart of Green Awards!

In its fourth year, The Heart of Green Awards program seeks to “celebrate bringing green to the mainstream.” Previous winners include actor Ted Danson, pediatrician Phil Landrigan, and metropolitan area New York City. This year, eighteen awards will be given out, covering four major categories: people & ideas, beauty & fashion, food & home, and places. What’s especially commendable about this year’s roster of nominees (and a big part of why we’re so honored to be nominated for best new innovation) is that it recognizes the positive progress occurring across the spectrum of sustainability, from high-level to on-the-ground impact. To elaborate, the Daily Green is giving props not only to individuals focused on grassroots efforts to promote environmentalism, but also to products that are redefining what will show up on store shelves.

Voting is open until March 27th, and doesn’t require anything more than a few clicks. You can learn more about all the nominees and cast your vote here.
