I recently interviewed Noel, GoodGuide’s iPhone app wizard, to get the details on the latest version of the GoodGuide iPhone application.
SV: So Noel, you’ve been busy. What would you like to tell people about the new GoodGuide iPhone app?
NH: Well, I could go on for a while, but I’ll start by saying it’s cleaner, prettier, and more efficient. People using the app can learn about product details more easily, keep track of what they’ve scanned, and immediately share their finds with friends. Also, there are some completely new features people can play around with.
SV: Hmm, does new translate to fun? Can you tell us a little more about the new features?
NH: We’ve tried to go a step further and build a more interactive experience. Now, you can check-in to stores where you shop, save products to a shopping list, get a room-based product analysis, and earn badges for finding and sharing GoodGuide-approved products.
SV: What part of the new app did you enjoy designing the most?
NH: The badges, for sure. There are seven different badges, but I’m waiting to see who’s the first person to unlock the Sherpa.
Thanks to Noel for taking the time to chat with us about what he’s been busy working on over the past few weeks. Since words just don’t do justice to all the new fangled fun on the app, we’ve included the above video to walk you through the basics.
Download the new version of the app to start scanning and sharing today.
PS – We haven’t forgotten about the Android folks out there. A developer is in the GoodGuide office as I type this, busy working on an Android version. Estimated arrival date is early spring!
