Vincent Kitira is one of GoodGuide’s research managers. In this interview, he discusses several of the concepts that inform his job such as Life Cycle Assessments, Cradle To Grave Design, and Product Use Phase Impacts. Believe it or not, he finds this stuff interesting. And it’s actually interesting to hear him talk about it.
Vince has been in the sustainability trenches for a while. Before joining GoodGuide, he managed the Responsible Purchasing Network, an international non-profit program that increases green consumer product purchases by government, industry, and educational institutions. He’s also worked with the City of New York to increase their purchases of environmentally preferable products to over $250 million a year. Not too shabby. Vince holds both a BS and an MSE from Cornell University, which while of no use to him when playing office nerf basketball, is of great use when working on GoodGuide’s rating system.
